1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso “Steve McQueen”

This 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso Was Steve McQueen’s Daily Driver.
The Ferrari V-12 was purchased new in 1963 as a gift for Steve McQueen, The king of cool’, by his first wife, Neile Adams. McQueen owned it for at least four years and drove it regularly. In the next few years he spent many hours behind the wheel of the 250 GT both on the glorious California roads and on the track. He eventually led go of his beloved Lusso in 1967 when he traded up for a Ferrari 275 Nart Spyder.
Quite in contrast with its very active life in McQueen’s hands, the metallic brown Lusso was stored for 24 years between 1973 and 1997. It was retrieved from hiding and completely restored by Michael Regalia, a former president of the Nethercutt Collection. He restored the car from the ground up and has since won awards at almost every Concours d’Elegance the car was shown, including the Cavallino Classic and Amelia Island. After a ten year ownership Regalia consigned the car to Christie’s 2007 Exceptional Motor Cars at the Monterey Jet Center Auction. It sold for a staggering $2.3 million, which was around four times the esimate
